All of this contributed to the modern day automobile, which is no question the safest car ever built. By the mid 90вЂ™s all cars came equipped with seatbelts and OBD II readers. Manufacturers began making airbags and anti lock brakes standard equipment. Therefore, SUVвЂ™s were built wider to prevent roll over. Government mandates were cracking down on safety, so designers had to keep the well being of its passengers in mind. As the 90вЂ™s approached, automakers were less focused on designing an aesthetically pleasing vehicle. But those cars we could only obtain in our dreams and have no relevance here. Of course there were exceptions, like the supercars us millennials had posted on our bedroom walls. The cars were boxy, bland and lacked any kind of style. Some say the 80вЂ™s and 90вЂ™s were some of the worst years for automobile design. From the 80вЂ™s to present time, vehicles have changed dramatically.
